Happy Six Sentence Sunday! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. This is the last week of The Beltane Witch. Next week I'll have something new to offer you. Navy SEALs? A menage of vampires? Perhaps a little bit of dragon to tempt you? The possibilities are endless. :D
In this snippet, Sabrina has taken Darius rollerskating with her daughters and he's coming to realize there might be more to this little witch than he'd first considered.
Skating turned
out to be a comedy of errors and Darius found it easier to watch from the edges
of the rink than skate with Sabrina and her children. Holly and Tansy were
masters at the sport and Darius grudgingly admitted admiration for their
coordination. Sabrina floated like an angel across the wooden floor and he
caught himself gaping like a fool. When had she become more beautiful than most
of the Fae lasses with whom he’d dallied?
Watching her laugh with her children struck a
chord in his chest and he rubbed a hand over his heart with a grunt. An odd
mixture of yearning and hope bloomed in his chest, followed swiftly by fear and
despair.
Thus comes the death of bachelorhood, and the panic of such a change. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Zee Monodee, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

That's a super decription of a man, or fae, realising that it's time to move on and grow up. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable scene. Nice job, Siobhan :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to realize what you're missing, what you want and think of the difficulties of crossing your obstacles to get to it. The detail about rubbing over his heart was stellar.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you described his yearning at the same time he counted the wonderful things about Sabrina and her children.
ReplyDeleteGreat visualisation. I can picture his admiration easily. Nice
ReplyDeleteGreat description! And I'm hoping for vampires next week :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet six, I love his thoughts as he watches them.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Ya know I feel the same way when I look at my own kids. LOL
ReplyDeleteAw, this is a pretty little vignette :) great six!
ReplyDeleteLove his POV and the gesture he makes rubbing his chest. Yeah, this guy is going to fall like an oak--hard and fast. Great six, Siobhan.
ReplyDeleteOh! I like him! Love how you've shown his longing and apprehension.
ReplyDeleteGood conflict!
ReplyDeleteNice play of emotions in this snippet, and the imagery was nicely done. The mention of fear and despair at the end has me intrigued... is he anticipating trouble of some kind?
ReplyDeleteI love the emotion here and the gesture he makes by rubbing his chest-- nice touch.
ReplyDeleteLovely Six! I especially liked the gesture when he rubs his heart, as if he'd just been shot by Cupid's arrow ;-)
ReplyDeleteAw. What an amazing moment!
