Six Sentence Sunday - Second Chance Succubus - The Lady's Domain

Happy Six Sentence Sunday again. Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet as Six Sentence Sunday winds down. Today is the last Sunday. :( However, there is a new list starting up in you're interested. Just click on the link. I'll be there. :) That said, I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. You can find last week's six here.

Today, I'm offering a snippet from my work in progress, a cross-over paranormal romantic suspense with BDSM elements, entitled Second Chance Succubus. Here we meet the heroine, Lady Aislynn, the succubus and owner of Eve's Paradise from last week's snippet. While many of you have said you wanted to see the first interaction between Nik and Chayse, I felt it wise to show you Aislynn as SSS closes it's doors. Aislynn is a Fem Domme and a succubus determined not to kill anyone again mostly by cutting men out of her life. Aislynn is the first to speak.

“Beautifully done, Felicia, I’m pleased.”
“Thank you, Mistress.”
Though the club didn’t open for another hour, the sleek oak doors swung wide and two men sauntered in. Aislynn absorbed their energies, inhaling the delicious curls of male, Elder Races, and…twins?
“Oh, that’s not good,” Felicia muttered, her expression hardening. “One of them is a cop.”
Interesting.

Aislynn has no idea what she's in for. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, J. M. Blackman, Gem Sivad, and Goran Zidar.

Thank you all for stopping by and accompanying me on this journey. I wish you all the very best and hope to see you on the new list starting at Skye Warren's place. Happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - Second Chance Succubus - Twin Trouble

Happy Six Sentence Sunday again. Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet as Six Sentence Sunday winds down. Only one more Sunday. :( I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. You can find last week's six here.

Today, I'm offering a snippet from a new work in progress, a cross-over paranormal romantic suspense with BDSM elements, entitled Second Chance Succubus. Here we meet the second of the two heroes, Nik Wolffe, older twin to Chayse from last week's snippet. Nik and Chayse are both in law enforcement, but Nik is a Private Investigator, while Chayse is a cop.

Nik parked his Chevy pickup outside of Eve’s Paradise, one of the premier gentleman’s clubs in Vegas and grimaced. The place was crawling with cops, which didn’t bode well for his investigation. Personally, more than professionally. Not only was Eve’s Paradise a legitimate cover for the Underground, a clandestine BDSM club, but if the cops had arrived, most likely so had his twin brother.
Fuck.
They hadn’t spoken since Chayse severed their ties over a woman and walked out on his brother. Nik’s rage had ebbed, but it simmered below the surface, and he didn’t want it erupting during an investigation.

Oooh, it sounds like Chayse has some explaining to do. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, J. M. Blackman, Gem Sivad, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentance Sunday - Second Chance Succubus - A Nose for Crime

Happy Six Sentence Sunday again. Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet as Six Sentence Sunday winds down. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. You can find last week's six here.

Today, I'm offering a snippet from a new work in progress, a cross-over paranormal romantic suspense with BDSM elements, entitled Second Chance Succubus. Here we meet one of the two heroes, Chayse Wolffe, and his first sight of the body from last week's snippet. Chayse doesn't have much tolerance for inanity.

Las Vegas had the nickname of the Capitol of Second Chances, but this guy wouldn’t get one tonight.
“No doubt it’s a murder.”
CSI Chayse Wolffe looked up from his notes at the owner of the voice and tried to dampen down his disgust. What was your first clue, genius? The uniform grimaced at the dead body and crossed himself.
“We’ll know after we study the forensic evidence.”

Everybody's an expert or a critic. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Second Chance Succubus - Waking up Dead

Happy Six Sentence Sunday and Happy New Year to you all! The wedding I attended was awesome and my brother is really happy. Yay! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet as Six Sentence Sunday winds down. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order.

In honor of a new year, I'm offering a snippet from  a new work in progress, a little cross-over paranormal romantic suspense with BDSM elements. The Second Chance Succubus starts with a grisly and curious murder in a swanky gentleman's club in Las Vegas. Here are the opening six sentences.

Drip, drip, drip.
The soft patter of liquid against a hard surface echoed in the silent room. A muted glow from recessed lighting barely touched the growing pool on the floor below the hanging silhouette. A soft hum filtered through the quiet space as the air conditioning units clicked on and the silent form swayed gently, twisting until the light illuminated the face.
Eyes wide and glassy, horror marked the slack features stretched around a ball gag. The arms had been bound behind the back, pressing the torso forward against the bands of the confining cage in which the body hung.

Now that guy had a bad night in Vegas. There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Reality Check

Happy Six Sentence Sunday and very happy holidays to you all! I'm celebrating my brother's wedding this weekend, so I won't be able to get to your sixes until later, but I will when I get home. :) Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet during the busy holiday season. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. If you'd like to read last week's SSS post, it's here.

Today I'm offering another snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. Jozsef has backed away, but when he told Rain he's a ghost, she doesn't believe him. She throws things at him to prove it. Unfortunately, he wins this round. This is in Jozsef's POV.

It took Rain several seconds to realize none of the objects hit him. When her awareness understood, her fury melted into breathless confusion, and fear entered her gaze once more.
“You were solid. How can you be a ghost? Ghosts aren’t solid or real!”
“Oh, I assure you, my lady, ghosts are real.”

He thinks he's so smart, but he doesn't expect what she does next. See you next week, lol! ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, Cara Michaels, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Hard Target

Happy Six Sentence Sunday and very happy holidays to you all! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet during the busy holiday season. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. If you'd like to read last week's SSS post, it's here.

Today I'm offering another snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. Jozsef is used to being a ghost, but he's not used to having any power over the living. In fact, he's never been able to touch anyone before.

Unfortunately, now that he had her pressed against the cupboards behind her, the glorious scent of her hair and the softness of her breasts fueled his cockstand between them and she gasped, freezing as if he'd stabbed her.
Stabbing her with that sword is a fine idea!
And how are you going to do that, jackass? You’re a ghost and she’s a flesh and blood woman of the family you wronged. You can’t even touch her.
Except he was touching her and his cock throbbed with her heat pressed against its hard length.

Sounds like there's a little more magic at play here than he thought. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, Cara Michaels, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Hungarian Barbarian

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. If you'd like to read last week's SSS post, it's here.

Today I'm offering another snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. Rain's sexy intruder tried to explain he'd been cursed, but she didn't believe him and told him to leave again. He didn't take the rejection well.

“By all the saints!” He vaulted over her island and pinned her to the counter with his weight as he ripped the knife from her hand. “I can’t leave your house until you release me from the curse your relative laid on me!”
The force of his fury broke through her courage and she blinked as tears leaked out the corners to slide down the sides of her face. In his rage, he could kill her without much effort, and all anyone would find would be her body.
Gathering what little courage she had left, she took a deep breath and raised her gaze to his.
“Please don’t hurt me.”

He better start earning points fast if he wants her help. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, Cara Michaels, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Boxed In

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well.

Rain's sexy intruder has some strange claims and even stranger explanations of his origin.

He raised his ringless hands up in a placating gesture and said, “Becalm yourself, my lady. I’m not here to hurt you; you brought me here, I didn’t follow you.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Keeping his hands where she could see them, he moved to the side and pointed at the long box on the table. She followed his motions, glancing quickly at the box, then back to him.
“I’m bound to the Bone Flute, my lady, and where it goes, I must also go."

That gives a whole new meaning to man in a box. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, Cara Michaels, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Surprise Company

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and if you don't celebrate, I hope your weekend is going well.

Rain met Jozsef at her office and sent him packing, thinking he was just an odd duck. A sexy odd duck, but still strange. She figured he wouldn't be back. Oops.

Sighing at the memory, Rain shook her head and rubbed her hard nipples with one hand as she closed the refrigerator door.
Then she shrieked, jumping backwards until she landed against the counter with her knife block. She grabbed the first knife she could and held it out against the figure of a tall, broad shouldered man standing just beyond the island.
He snorted at her choice of weapon and she realized she held a paring knife, but she’d make do if he thought he’d take her easy.
“Who the hell are you and what the fuck are you doing in my house?” she spat at him, her heart galloping wildly.
He stood silently, his legs braced apart and his arms folded over his chest, and just looked at her with the same chocolate brown eyes she’d been imagining.

Talk about a heart-stopping visitor, and not necessarily in a good way. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Laura Kaye, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - The Best Part of Waking Up

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and if you don't celebrate, I hope your weekend is going well.

Remember Jozsef? In this snippet, he wakes up to someone fondling his leg. Not bad for being dead for 1400 years.

Now, once again, he awakened from wherever he went between these encounters to the erotic feeling of someone running their fingertips over his leg. Even before he’d fully materialized, he realized the hands belonged to someone feminine and old enough to know what she was doing.
Magical energy crackled and pulsed around him, seductively pulling him into the world. Pleasure built within him as the hands slid over his inner thigh then up to his hip, grazing the sides of his scrotum. Arousal shivered through him, hardening his cock into a pillar of stone between his legs.
Holy God, who is this woman?

I've often been told paleontologists have great hands. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Zee Monodee, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Dead Things

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. While my sixes aren't always right after each other, they are in chronological order. If you'd like to read last week's SSS post, it's here.

Today I'm offering another snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. Remember the box? In this snippet, Rain Szep opens the wooden box and finds a rather grisly discovery.

Looking down at the bone flute, Rain suspected her job had contributed to the dubious gift. Her grandmother had known she studied old bones and the flute probably seemed like the ideal gift to give a paleontologist. Unfortunately, the artifact should’ve gone to an archaeologist because Rain didn’t have much to do with human remains.
Even oddly carved human remains.
Closing the lid carefully, she said, “Probably because she’d heard I was a dead thing specialist. This certainly is a dead thing.”

Yes it is, and she has no idea what a 'lucky' girl she is. :D There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Zee Monodee, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - The Bone Flute - Inheritance

Happy Six Sentence Sunday and Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me. Sorry the link didn't work last week. I checked it and found myself reading in Spanish. What the? If you'd like to read last week's SSS post, it's here.

Today I'm offering another snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. In this snippet, Rain Szep is the paleontologist from the Bureau of Land Management in Las Vegas in 2012, and she's just found out her grandmother has died, leaving her a few things.

“Three weeks ago,” Mr. Stienmeyer replied without elaborating. “At the reading of her will, it was stipulated that her three grandchildren from her first son Reginald Szép each receive a small trust fund of fifty thousand–”
Rain choked. “Dollars?”
“Yes, dollars, only to be awarded after the occasion of legitimate marriage,” he went on with a little frown at her interruption. “In addition to your monetary inheritance, your grandmother also handed down this antique wooden box and its contents to you because, and I quote, ‘She’ll know what to do with the damn thing and she’s into that sort of stuff.’”

Oooh, what's in the box? Can you hear the voice saying "open the box"? :D There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Zee Monodee, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sundy - The Bone Flute - Cursed

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to read this week's snippet. I really appreciate your time and the comments you leave for me.

Today I'm offering a snippet from The Bone Flute, a paranormal romantic suspense. In this snippet, Marika Szep is the local witch in 1623 Hungary, and an angry mob incited by the headman's son, Horvath, is burning her alive in her cottage. Jozsef Kiraly, her erstwhile fiance, believed Horvath until he realizes something is wrong.

Flames crackled along the walls around her, but she kept holding on to her energy and her fury. The dry summer had made her cottage like tinder and the flames consumed the walls eagerly. Marika held on until the roof collapsed in on her.
She meant to aim the curse at Horváth, but when the hot fiery pain slammed into her, she released her curse, screaming, “JOZSEF!” before she knew no more.

****

Jozsef Király heard the scream from inside the burning cottage just before a blinding bolt of energy shot from the flames and slammed into him. He had a moment only to feel Marika’s betrayal and to realize he’d been duped before searing pain shot up through his body.

I'd say Jozsef learned pretty quickly not to mess with a witch. Too bad he died doing it. ;) There are several great authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list and a few of my favorites are Karla Doyle, Sarah Ballance, Silver James, Zee Monodee, and Goran Zidar. Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! :)
