Mid Week Tease - The Bone Flute - Love is Love

Welcome to the Weird, the Wild, & the Wicked for a new year of Mid Week Tease hosted by Sandra Bunino.

Authors: this is a great opportunity to spotlight a few lines or even a paragraph or two from a new release or backlisted title. Readers: you get to sample some delicious snippets! We’ll do our best to tease, titillate and tantalize you into the weekend.

I suddenly realized I hadn't read my own post. LOL So this will be the last snippet from my new paranormal romantic suspense set in Las Vegas, entitled The Bone Flute. Next week I'll have something from Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack. But I can't just cut you off cold turkey, so in this unedited snippet, Rain is trying to figure out the nature of Jozsef's curse so they can figure out how to dismantle it.

She let that one go for a moment. “Okay, so you met up with a ‘magic user’ each time. Always in the same place?”
He shook his head slowly. “I don’t believe so. The first man appeared to be wealthy and lived in an ornate house on the water. He had a wife and children, but he also saw another woman most intimately. His mistress, I think. She was unhappy with his refusal to buy her better dresses than his wife and poisoned him for it.”
“Damn. You watched him die? Why didn’t you warn him?”
Jozsef shrugged. “What could I do? I was a ghost with no ability to communicate. Besides, he was a pig like Horváth. I had little interest in helping him.”
Rain sighed. “Who did you meet next?”
“A gypsy woman who told fortunes at all the villages along their route.”
“A fortune teller?” Rain snorted with derision. “Was she accurate?”
“Most of the time. Unfortunately, she told a ruling prince something he didn’t want to hear, no matter how true it might have been, and they stoned her for her ‘lies.’”
Rain gaped at his cavalier response. “Where were you then?”
He frowned in concentration and ran a fingernail over the edge of her table. “Rus, I think.”
“And you didn’t help her, either?”
“Rain, I was a ghost. How was I to help her?”
“You could’ve warned her or even distracted those who captured her. I assume you just watched her die, too.”
Jozsef opened his mouth to say something, but just gestured helplessly.
“Sheesh. Who’s next in the execution lineup?”
He told her about a rich Norwegian Prince whose half-brother wanted the crown on his head and took it, with the head still attached. Jozsef had learned how to make coherent sounds at by then, but hadn’t used them to help the Prince. The next time he awoke, he’d found himself in the hands of a handsome, young English painter. The young man had been lucky to find a wealthy patron, who had also been his lover. Unfortunately, the wealthy lover was jealous of the painter’s talent and attentions. He killed him one night when he thought the painter had accepted a tryst with another man.
Rain scowled. “Why did you let the painter die?”
“He was unnatural.” Jozsef shifted uneasily in his seat.
“He was not unnatural.” She slapped her hand on the table, frustration rising. “Homosexuality is as natural as heterosexuality. Love is love.”

Mid Week Tease - The Bone Flute - Science vs. Magic

I'm working on a new paranormal romantic suspense set in Las Vegas, entitled The Bone Flute. In this unedited snippet, Rain is trying to understand why Jozsef (pronounced Yo-zheff) is really in her home and gets a lesson in symmetry.

“You’re going to have to explain this to me. I don’t really understand the whole curse thing. I didn’t know anything about the bone flute until yesterday afternoon when a lawyer brought it to the office as a piece of my inheritance from my grandmother.”
“You inherited it from your grandmother, but you know nothing about it?” He raised an eyebrow.
“We weren’t close.” Rain shrugged. “My dad wanted nothing to do with his family. I never really knew my grandmother or the rest of his relatives.”
“How could you learn to hone your magic skills if you never knew your grandmother?” Then his expression cleared. “Ah, you learned it from your mother’s people.”
“What? No, no, I’m not a magic user of any kind.” She gave him an understanding smile. “I’m a paleontologist.”
His frown returned, with a heavy dose of confusion. “A ‘studier’ of…what?”
“Studier of ancient life.” Her smile widened. “I study fossil animals and their ancient environments to give me clues about environmental changes that may happen to our world in the future.”
“So you use ancient life magic to predict the future.” Jozsef nodded slowly.
“No, I don’t use magic at all. I use science. And I can’t predict the future, only make educated guesses about where the environmental patterns are leading based on what we’ve seen in the past.”
“What is science?”
“It’s the knowledge or study of the physical or material world through systematic observation and the collection of facts.”
He snorted. “Is that not the same as magic?”
“No, not at all. In science, we observe the interactions of things, note patterns or discrepancies, and find the truth based on systematic data collection over time.”
“How is this different from the practice of magic? Doesn’t a witch use the same sort practice and observation to understand how to control the magical forces that make up the patterns you’ve seen?”
“Magic isn’t real.” Rain set her coffee down before she spilled it. “It’s just the term we use for illusionists and charlatans on the Strip, or a plot point on a fantasy story. It doesn’t exist.”
“Like ghosts?” His lips curled and she snapped her mouth shut, her teeth clacking with the force.

#SnippetSunday - WIP - Recognition

Welcome to the Snippet Sunday on the Weird, the Wild, and the Wicked. Thank you so much for visiting. If you choose to comment today, I really appreciate it. Currently, the snippets are from a Work in Progress, the third story in the Cloudburst, Colorado series, and while they aren't consecutive, they are in order within the story. You can read last week's snippet HERE.

Today, I'm offering another snippet from the second chapter of The Cloudburst Coffee and Spa, a WIP in the Cloudburst Colorado series that deals with some of the darker kinks in love. Aiden has returned to Cloudburst to recover his heart in the form of Moira Callahan, but her brother might have something to say about it. This continues from last week and is unedited.

“Comin’ up.” Kieran moved away and Aiden breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn’t been recognized yet, but he’d changed a great deal in the last eighteen years. Hopefully, it’d keep him safe. At least for tonight.
Kieran set a glass and a chilled bottle on the bar in front of Aiden and gave him a neutral smile. Aiden didn’t meet his gaze, but focused on the beer.
“How long you in town for, Westmorland?”
Aw, hell, that hadn’t taken long.
“Dunno. Just got back in tonight to visit with family.” Aiden took a swig from the bottle. “You got a problem, Callahan?”
“That depends.” The younger man scanned the rest of the bar to be sure no one needed anything. When no one waved him down, he turned his attention back to Aiden.
“On?”
“On whether or not you’re here to break my sister’s heart again.”

So much for the subtle approach. If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. There are several great authors on the Weekend Writing Warrior list and in the Snippet Sunday Facebook group. A few of my favorites are Anastasia Vitsky, SJ Maylee, Gem Sivad, Goran Zidar, Zee Monodee, and Karla Doyle.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy reading. :)

#SnippetSunday - WIP - Family Stats

Welcome to the Snippet Sunday on the Weird, the Wild, and the Wicked. Thank you so much for visiting. If you choose to comment today, I really appreciate it. Currently, the snippets are from a Work in Progress, the third story in the Cloudburst, Colorado series, and while they aren't consecutive, they are in order within the story. Today, I'm offering another snippet from the second chapter of The Cloudburst Coffee and Spa, a WIP in the Cloudburst Colorado series that deals with some of the darker kinks in love. Aiden has returned to Cloudburst to recover his heart in the form of Moira Callahan. The biggest hurdle he has to get past is her family. The snippet is unedited.

Aiden zipped up his jacket as the cold Clouburst wind stole all the heat from his body. Damn, he’d forgotten how bitter it could be in the mountains of Colorado. His strides lengthened and he found himself standing beneath the overhang of the Cliffhanger Bar. Don’t go inside. You’re asking for trouble.
But he pushed the door open and sighed in relief as heat flooded over his chilled body. He shouldn’t be there, not with all the animosity he’d experienced with Moira’s family, but tonight he couldn’t stay away. He settled on a stool at the bar.
“What can I get you?”
Aiden glanced up to take in the bartender and recognition dawned as quickly as the man’s stats. Kieran Callahan, Moira’s younger brother. Blood type AB positive, BMI twenty-two point four, life expectancy ninety-one point six years, ninety-four percent chance he will marry outside his profession.
Aiden dragged his eyes away from Kieran and focused on the handwritten menu on the wall. “I’ll take a Powder Keg Stout.”

No wonder he doesn't meet people's gazes. Who wants all those stats all the time? If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. #SnippetSunday - WIP - Family, Connection, Memories

At the time he left, she was too young to deal with some of his darker needs, but eighteen years allows for a lot of growing up. The snippet is unedited.

It couldn’t have been Moira. Aiden had heard she’d gone to school at UC Denver before moving on to Stanford to get her masters in business administration. With that kind of schooling, why the hell would she come back to this little town in the middle of the Rocky Mountains?
Probably for the same reasons you are, moron.
Family, connection, memories.
But he’d really come back for her. Moira had been the only one to calm his dark sexual needs, turning off the over-analytical part of his mind, and took away the desperation. Only pain had the same capability. When he’d left eighteen years ago to protect her from the darkness he carried, he’d turned to tattoos to keep the needs in check. Now he had one full sleeve, a gauntlet on the opposite arm, a large sweeping tribal across his shoulders, and “tramp stamp” across his hips. His shoulders still pleasantly ached from the touch-ups he’d endured just a week earlier.
Pain was good. It kept him anchored and focused on the being “normal”, and quieted the dark sexual addictions driving him. At least it worked for a while.

We all find our coping mechanisms, yes? ;) If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. #SnippetSunday - WIP - Too Stupid To Live

Eighteen years have passed since Moira saw Aiden under the ponderosa, and now he's back in town, at least for a while. The snippet is unedited.

Aiden Westmorland parked his old Chevy pickup behind Mazie’s Five and Dime, and wondered for the millionth time what the hell he’d been thinking coming back to Cloudburst. Too stupid to live, I guess. He could give any excuse he wanted, but deep down the answer had been and always would be the same. Moira Callahan. She represented true north on his compass star, and he’d always be drawn back to her allure.
He’d hit the outskirts of town just ahead of the snowstorm bearing down on the little Rocky Mountain town. He didn’t believe this would be a quick one, despite the town’s name. The scent in the wind suggested the storm might last for quite a while. Mistress Cloudburst strikes again. The nickname made him grin and he turned off the truck before shoving his hands into gloves. The windows immediately fogged up as his warm breath hit the cooling glass, obscuring the view of the frozen parking lot.

So not so unaffected by his lady after all. ;) If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. #SnippetSunday - WIP - 18 Years and Counting

Eighteen years have passed since Moira saw Aiden under the ponderosa, and now she helps her brother Steven run the family bar, The Cliffhanger. The snippet is unedited.

“Is Talia coming in tonight?”
“No, I gave her the night off.”
“What? Are you crazy? It’s a Friday before St. Patrick’s Day. We need everyone here tonight.” Steven huffed and puffed like a big Irish bear.
“She’s taking her massage certification final. This is a big night for her. We’ll be fine.”
“I’ll call Kallen and Kevin. Hopefully, Kallen won’t be covered in sawdust and Kevin can scrub himself clean of horse.” Steven grimaced and picked up the phone.
“Good luck with that.” Moira replaced the board and shrugged, dissatisfaction eating through her gut.
“Hey, what is it with you? You on the rag or something?”
“Wow, could you be any more disgusting, Steven? It’s a wonder you don’t have a girlfriend with that mouth of yours.”
He flipped her off and turned back to the phone. Moira chaffed her arms and sniffed the air. Beyond the scents of beer and furniture polish, she detected the scent of storm, and excitement washed over her. Oh, knock it off! He’s gone and he’s not coming back.
Aiden.
The summer she’d truly been sixteen and never been kissed, at least not until he came around. But he’d left that fall, two years older and college bound, and she never saw him again.

What do you bet that's going to change? ;) If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. #SnippetSunday - WIP - Bittersweet Aftermath

Today, I'm offering another snippet from the first chapter of The Cloudburst Coffee and Spa, a WIP in the Cloudburst Colorado series that deals with some of the darker kinks in love. Moira has just shared a release with Aiden, and she only wants more. But Aiden knows her family doesn't approve, and like all stubborn heroes, is trying to protect her. The snippet is probably NSFW and it's unedited.

She moaned long and hard, dropping her head against the cold glass and tried to regain her breath. Holy Goddess of the Valley! What had just happened? Her breath shuddered from her chest as she recovered from Aiden’s erotic and intimate actions outside. Sweet joy curled through her, but she only wanted more. More of this, more of Aiden. Only with Aiden.
No one but you, Moira Callahan.
The voice came out of nowhere and sang along her nerve endings, making her shiver.
“Aiden?” She opened her eyes to stare out into the murky darkness.
No answer, but the lightning flashed again and he still stood there, his feet braced apart and his hand still wrapped around his rigid dick. His blazing eyes met hers through the rainy window and she felt his need and desire as if they were two halves of a fire burning within her.
“Aiden.” She flattened a hand against the window, wanting him to come to her more than anything else and knowing she could soothe his heartache. She knew it, with all her heart. “Please, let me in.”
The lightning flashed one last time, but Aiden was gone and her heart went with him.
“Aiden, please.” Her hand tightened into a fist. “Please stay.”
Be safe and be loved, Mistress Cloudburst.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, and more agonizing when you're 16, eh? ;) If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. #SnippetSunday - WIP - Dark and Stormy Night

You can read the last snippet of The Beltane Witch HERE.

Today, I'm offering a snippet from the first chapter of The Cloudburst Coffee and Spa, a WIP in the Cloudburst Colorado series that deals with some of the darker kinks in love. Moira Callahan is only sixteen, but she's been having naughty thoughts about Aiden Westmorland, a distant family relative fostering with her family for the summer. Aiden is two years older and college bound, but they've connected on a deep level and have traded hot looks across the yard. This snippet is from the night he leaves and is probably NSFW. It's unedited, so please keep that in mind.

Moira returned to her bedroom and scooted over to the bedside table to switch off the light. As she passed her window, the lightning flashed again and she caught sight of something under the large Ponderosa pine in the yard. Wait, what was that? She paused and frowned into the slashing rainy dark.
Moira smelled the water as it pounded the window and the sharp ozone of burnt air from the lightning’s strike, but neither of those scents had her skin prickling or her nipples hardening again. She waited tensely for another flash, her breath sawing in and out of her chest in nervous excitement.
She thought her heart would explode and realized she held her breath, but she just couldn’t let it go. When the lightning finally granted her sight once more, she sighed explosively and gripped the windowsill until her hands cramped.
Aiden stood out there, under the Ponderosa, with his long, dark hair slicked from rain and sticking to his face and neck in wet tendrils. His wiry body flashed pale in the white of light, each muscle standing out in stark relief as he allowed the rain to bathe him. He had his head thrown back and one hand on his balls while his other hand stroked his dick in tight agony.

So much for getting away from her naughty thoughts of him. If you'd like to see a photo of the inspiration for Aiden, click HERE. :) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writing Warrior list and in the Snippet Sunday Facebook group. #FBFlashFicFri and #WIPFlash - a #flashfiction combo

Good morning. Often on Fridays Sandra Bunino and I post a Flash Fiction Friday post on Facebook to allow authors and writers a chance at free promo. How does this work? All you have to do is write 200 words around a prompt and post it in the comments section of the Flash post under the photo.

Today I wrote my 200 words from an upcoming WIP entitled In Death's Shadow, but these words are a continuation of an entry to another flash challenge put on by Cara Michaels, #WIPFlash. Cara's challenge had several prompts to work with and when I wrote these 495 for her, I used prompts

  • "this just sucks"
  • "no justification"
  • an unusual winter
  • the photo
I continued the scene for today's #FBFlashFicFri promo spot on Sandra Bunino's page. So first here is the photo and the 495 words from Cara's challenge, followed by the snippet I wrote for today's promo.

The weather had worsened as the day wore on and Maia swore she’d never seen snow as deep or as constant as they’d experienced this winter. Great time to travel looking for someone. This just sucks. For all we know she could be buried out there under the drifts.
Maia had no idea where they’d gone after they’d left the forest and started to climbing. Her attention had been centered on the constant drag of her skirts through the snow and the bone-breaking chill. She only knew they’d arrived somewhere when she ran into Quinn’s snow-shrouded back.
“Oh, sorry.” Maia raised her gaze from the unrelenting white and gaped.
Gray veined walls of marble mirrored the Cliffside, so well camouflaged she could barely make out the outline of the door. Snow flurries disguised the odd scrollwork on the portal and an eerie feeling skittered down her back as Quinn grasped the hidden latch and yanked. Despite the air of abandonment, the door swung open on silent hinges.
“Inside, now.”
He didn’t have to tell her twice. She trudged past him and he pulled the door shut, closing them in a deafening silence. Not even the scream of the wind cut the thick quiet. The air smelled stale and dry as if the door hadn’t been opened in unmeasured time.
“Where are we?”
Her voice echoed and Quinn struck a match, the hiss bouncing off the vaulted ceiling.
“It appears to be a sepulcher.”
Maia swallowed against bile as she took in the hideous construction before her. Skulls and limb bones of humans created a macabre chandelier and garlands around the ceiling. Four pillars topped by cherubs drew supplicants toward an altar in an alcove. A single angel stood upon a carved pedestal bearing a trumpet and a sword.
“Gods above, this place is creepy.”
“There’s no justification for that assessment.”
Maia swung toward Quinn with surprise. “What do you mean ‘no justification’?” She waved at the morbid décor. “Those are human skulls. They were people once.”
Quinn shrugged, his expression serene. “They’re dead. The soul has long fled and they’re nothing but bones. No vengeful spirits, no walking dead. Just old bones gathering dust. Quite peaceful, actually.”
 He’s lost his mind.
He caught her look and raised his eyebrows. “Certainly better than being out in the howling wind.”
“I’m not convinced of that.” She glanced up at the bone chandelier. “Who do you think built this place and…that?”
“Have you done no research of this world, Princess?”
“I’ve been a lamp, remember?”
“And enlightenment didn’t come with it?”
Maia stared at him and he cracked one of his rare smiles. “You know, you should be careful. If you start making more jokes, you could be in danger of becoming friendly.”
“We wouldn’t want that.” Quinn lit a torch resting in a sconce on the wall.
Maia huffed a laugh. “Definitely not.” Then her levity died. “Ugh. Are those rib bones on the arch?”
“Yes.”
     “Lovely.”

For today's prompt, Sandra posted "struggling to take a deep breath."

Maia wrapped her arms tighter around her own ribs. “This place gives me the creeps.”
Quinn sighed. “This was the only place out of the wind and snow for shelter on the path you led us. So tell me, Princess, where are we going? Do you sense the Dryad queen here?”
Maia  closed her eyes and opened her senses, struggling to take a deep breath without inhaling the scent of musty bones. The old sepulcher shimmered before her mind’s eye in an iridescent rainbow of colors. That’s odd. She’d never seen anything like it before in all the times she’d “looked” for the Dryad queen.
Turning slowly in a circle, Maia searched the glittering room and stumbled to a stop. She wanted to shield her inner eye from the searing glare of white light flooding through an arched doorway to her left and raised her hand to her closed eyes.
“Through there.” She waved vaguely in the direction of the archway, but hitched a breath as Quinn walked through her vision.
Instead of dirty white robes with bristling weapons slung around him, Quinn shone brilliant red and gold of power and courage. Sparkles of white and green flashed throughout his form, showing honor and…love? Surprise made her stumble again and “fell” out of her senses to stare after his fading silhouette.
My assassin is in love? She’d never thought the man could feel anything, though she’d seen flashes of humor.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit the #FBFlashFicFri today to read other authors' promo pieces. You might find some new things to read. :)

Weekend Writing Warriors - A Hell Hound's Fire - Giving In

Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors and Happy Easter! Thank you so much for visiting on this busy weekend. I will be in and out as I celebrate with my family, but I'll try to get to everyone's blog. If you choose to comment, I really appreciate it. Most of these snippets are unedited, works in progress, and while my snippets aren't consecutive, they are in order within the story. You can read last week's snippet HERE.

Today, I'm offering another snippet from an upcoming paranormal romance available April 2nd 2013, entitled A Hell Hound's Fire. SQUEEE two more days! :D Ahem, still not excited in the least. ;) In this snippet, Alex finally gives into his need and kisses Sarah. This is in Alex's POV.

Sarah whimpered and her nails dug into his back through his shirt as she wrapped one leg around his thigh. She ground her mound against his rock-hard cock and he swore his eyes rolled back in his head.

Want, want her now, True Mate. Tugging her head back again, he broke the kiss and licked her throat, lust demanding he mark her as his. He worked his hand between their bodies and stroked the crotch of her jeans, the heat and dampness there searing his fingers. Feral need exploded through him and the scent of her arousal insisted he mate with her immediately.

And he would have, except the pasta pot boiled over right beside them.

They broke apart, Alex scrambling to turn down the heat on the stove. His cock throbbed against the fly of his jeans, mourning the loss of Sarah’s warmth, but guilt hit him straight between the eyes. What the fuck am I doing?

So much for his control, but it doesn't sound like she was protesting all that much. ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writing Warrior list and a few of my favorites are Sarah Ballance, Charmaine Gordon, Goran Zidar, Karla Doyle, and A.S. Fenichel.

If you're interested in A Hell Hound's fire, here is the cover and blurb:

Love can be found in the most unlikely places, even the heart of a Hell Hound.

Alex MacLaren figures he'll never find love again after his mate dies. As one of the rare Hell Hound werewolves, his chances are slim to none. And slim went home. When the local Morukai shaman calls on him to protect a lovely Irish werewolf and her young son from demons, he can't help but take the job.

Sarah Flanagan is desperate to save her son Liam from the deadly monster trailing them, but she's out of options and places to hide. She lost her mate the last time she encountered a demon, and with Liam depending on her, the stakes are far higher this time. After meeting Alex, she's not sure about the Hell Hound, but she’s no fool. He’s their best hope for survival... and hers for another chance at love.

Thank you all for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Weekend Writing Warriors - A Hell Hound's Fire - Catching Himself

Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors! Thank you so much for visiting and if you choose to comment, I really appreciate it.

SQUEEE one more week! :D Ahem, not excited in the least. ;) In this snippet, Sarah Flanagan and her son Liam came to Cloudburst, Colorado, seeking help in escaping a demon. They're werewolves, Moon Singers, and have arrived at Alex MacLaren's safe house. Alex has just made dinner and Sarah has offered to help, laying her hand on his arm. This is in Alex's POV.

He fell into her pale green gaze and his heart stirred along with his cock. This one, this one is the right one. His Brother let loose a whimper and Alex almost pulled Sarah into his arms and kissed her. But lightning flashed and thunder shook the house, making him jump. He stepped back.
“You’re welcome. Just all part of the plan to keep you safe. You’ve had a rough night and I’m happy to help.” Alex glanced out the windows to see rain smattering the glass in great sheets. “Looks like we caught a break, though.”
A cute crease developed between her auburn brows. “How so?”
“Fitzroy said water confuses demons. I figure between the river and the rain storm, we got it covered.”

Oops! He almost got caught his his hand in the cookie jar...or his lips on hers. ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writing Warrior list and a few of my favorites are Sarah Ballance, Charmaine Gordon, Goran Zidar, Karla Doyle, and Monica Enderle Pierce.
If you're interested in A Hell Hound's fire, here is the cover and blurb:

Weekend Writing Warriors - A Hell Hound's Fire - Secrets

Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green? Thank you so much for visiting and if you choose to comment, I really appreciate it. Most of these snippets are unedited, works in progress, and while my snippets aren't consecutive, they are in order within the story. You can read last week's snippet HERE.

Today, I'm offering another snippet from an upcoming paranormal romance which will be a free read available April 2nd 2013, entitled A Hell Hound's Fire. Sarah Flanagan and her son Liam came to Cloudburst, Colorado, seeking help in escaping a demon. They're werewolves, Moon Singers, and Alex MacLaren is taking them to a safe house. Alex is also a Moon Singer, but not your average wolf. This is in Alex's POV.

“I’m a descendent of those children, the Hell Hounds, Moon Singers with the ability to fight the Underworld dwellers with tooth, claw, and a coat of blessed fire.”
“Aren’t Hell Hounds supposed to be evil?” Sarah’s wariness broke his heart.
“That’s a myth perpetuated to keep everyone safer from what trouble we can attract.” Alex looked up ahead at the bridge crossing one branch of the river to his house. “Mostly we got the name from the hell we have to go through to kill the monsters and send them home.”
He believed that was true. He’d never fought a demon himself. Hell Hounds lived on the fringes of pack life because of their extraordinary abilities.

That's one Hell of a secret. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, doesn't it? ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writing Warrior list and a few of my favorites are Sarah Ballance, Charmaine Gordon, Goran Zidar, Karla Doyle, and Monica Enderle Pierce. Thank you all for stopping by and happy reading! :)
