Just the Right Guy #100Words for the #FridayFictioneers

Welcome to the 100 words of the #FridayFictioneers hosted by Madison Woods. She offered us the following photo as a prompt and here's a little story that came from my imagination for it. Eloise is a secondary character from my forthcoming novel Queen Bitch of Callowwood, out in May 2012 from Siren Publishing. It seems like my Muse thinks she might get her own story after all. :)

Eloise sat down on the stepped rock and put her bare feet in the cool water.
“Oohhhhh,” she moaned. She closed her eyes and dropped her head back, willing her unhappy thoughts to fade away.
Tommy’s not the right male for you. He might be alpha, but he’s not your True Mate, her Sister self remarked.
She’d always had trouble with the idea of “True Mates” in the werewolf communities. Her parents weren’t true mates and they got along just fine.
And just who do you think is my True Mate?
“Hello, Eloise.”
She opened her eyes and stared into the sexy face of Kyle Howler.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you check out the other stories on Madison's site. Happy reading! :)

  1. That's very hot!
    Loved the rawness about it!

    Here's mine -

  2. Kyle Howler the werewolf made me laugh! But apart from that, I enjoyed this little love story, and I sympathise with poor Eloise debating the pressures of society against how she feels.

  3. Loved it! Kyle Howler is a hottie, I'm guessing. Great job of combining a love story in a werewolf setting. Excellent internal dialog. This has real bite!
    Here's mine:

  4. Oooh! This would be my kind of story.

    my attempt is here:

  5. How kind of Kyle to show up in time to answer her question, lol. Love it, Siobhan!

  6. Ha! Got me. I was relaxing with my feet in the cool water and then bam! the werewolf and a plot twist in this little love story. Nice.

You've seen mine but for the others it's at

  7. Kyle and Eloise, the lusting werewolves. Love it. Also, you framed this all so elegantly, I just didn't pause at all. Fantastic job.

  8. Awww that is just so very lovely. What a wonderful job!

The link to my drabble this week is:

  9. Knowing nothing else of the story, I'd say that Kyle is the true mate, though she will probably resist this idea, at least for part of the way. Well done.

  10. Dear Siobhan,

Kyle Howler? I must admit there is a certain flair to the name. How could he not be Eloise's True Mate? Congrats on the May publication of your novel. I'll raise a glass to you as April ends.

  11. Is there something with my trailing Douglas? Well, i find this story very beautiful and romantic...just while she was asking herself questions an answer appears! Good!
    Here's mine:

  12. It feels like you had a lot of fun writing this one and it shines through. The various hints at a much broader narrative entice the reader nicely. Well done :-)

  13. Sounds like a fun story surrounding this snippet :) Loved it! (And congrats on being published with Siren)
