Marcus Blackheart
In this snippet from How to Rescue a Pirate, Samantha has been ripped out of sleep by Capt. Marcus Blackheart screaming from a nightmare. She tries to wake him before he brings the other residents of the hostel running.

[Marcus] roared with fury as his eyes snapped open and he grabbed her by the arm, throwing her across the room like a flung pillow. [Sam] landed hard against the wall beside the door, her head slamming into the plaster. He was out of the bed and towering over her in his fury before she could blink, his hand wrapped around her dirk with the blade pressed against her throat.
She tried to tell him she meant him no harm, but her head swam and her breath wouldn’t come.
“WHO ARE YE?!” He grabbed her shirt front, hauling her nose to nose with him.

He certainly knows how to make a good impression. Thank you so much for stopping by and happy reading! :)

  6. Oh heck, I wonder what he was dreaming (or rather, having a nightmare) about!

  7. Well if that doesn't wake them up, I don't know what will. Invigorating six!

  8. Well then. LOL. Love me some sexy pirates though.

  9. Ouch--but I like a bit of temper in my man. 'Course, it won't be much fun if he kills her right off, but I'm thinking she's got a good head on her shoulders and she'll manage to calm him down before (too much) damage is inflicted :)

  10. Ooh, like the nose-to-nose detail. Weirdly intimate despite, you know…the circumstances.

  12. I always love me a sexy pirate. But I gotta agree with Cara -- apparently it's best to let sleeping pirates lie!

  13. Nice picture, by the way.

And that is certainly a different way to come out of a sleep.

  14. Oo, I wonder what sort of dream made him scream? Poor girl. Hope he makes it up to her. :)

  15. Makes me wonder if he's worth rescuing!

  16. There's nothing quite as sexy as a pirate. That picture is so dreamy. *sigh* Great six, Siobhan! Happy Sunday!

  17. A serious case of (PPTSD) Pirate post traumatic stress disorder--lol. Bad news that her dirk was so close when she roused him out of a nightmare. Interestingly, I actually have known of real PTSD survivors who wake up exactly that way, and their wives and lovers learn not to touch them when trying to wake them from bad dreamings. Fascinating six, and a hook into wanting to know more about Marcus.

  18. Very intense, I'm not so sure I'd be sticking around after that.

  19. Intense six and I want to know more of the background. I'm also fascinated by the plaster and the hostel-what world are they in?

    Thanks for the well-wishes! :-)
