Welcome to the Snippet Sunday on the Weird, the Wild, and the Wicked. Sorry I haven't been around much, I've moved locations, found the internet, and now can do more. Thank you so much for visiting. If you choose to comment today, I really appreciate it. The snippets are from my upcoming release, Bronco's Rough Ride, a military romantic suspense set in Las Vegas. It's a prequel to The Navy's Ghost, set 10 years earlier. No paranormal critters in this one, though there's plenty of kick-ass adventure and hot sex. You can read last week's snippet HERE.
Lindsey is trying to make an awkward situation better by talking to John as she attempts to get him dressed. Not quite like dressing a baby doll. For example, he's bigger, heavier, and far more aware of what she's doing.
She reached for his
arm and gathered the heavy limb, enjoying the scent of his skin and the rough
texture of his palm. She rubbed the calluses with her thumbs, noting the
locations of them. The calluses spoke of experience and understanding of
weapons. Something about them sent excitement shooting to her groin. Damn, military men are sexy.
“You have beautiful
hands, John.” She turned his arm over to look at the veins and muscles beneath
the dark hair of his forearm. “I love the strength in them. They show your
experience without being ostentatious. You don’t have to scream about your
knowledge. Your body shows your capabilities.” She raised her gaze to his.
“It’s beautiful.”

ReplyDeleteThe tactile details don't get lost in overall feel of the scene. It's clear, you put a lot of information out in a short space, and it's all easy to visualize.
