Welcome back, Sixers, for another wonderful Sunday. Happy Easter! I hope it's a good day with good food and lots of chocolate (I'm hoping for coffee and Honey Dust, myself). Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, especially on a holiday, and commenting. I really appreciate it as I know there are a lot of authors on the Six Sentence Sunday list. Thank you for taking the time to visit mine. I have some favorites on the list and a few of them are Cara Michaels, Zee Monodee, Goran Zidar, and Paula Martin.
In this snippet from Her Devoted Vampire, my recent release from Evernight Publishing, Bridget and Fredrick are having a frank discussion about love and how to show it.
“As for why I don’t care to hurt you, you don’t choose whom you love, you just love them.”
“Love? You call this love? Oh, right, you’ve lived forever, so back in your day, the time of Neanderthals, you just clubbed your mate and then held her captive for a while until she gave up trying to escape, right? This fits right in. Love someone, hold them captive until they acquiesce to your dominance.”Oh, that's definitely my definition of true love, lol. Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you'd like the opportunity to win a digital copy of Her Devoted Vampire and a signed, framed cover art photo, please check out the post directly below this one for the Hoppy Easter Blog Hop. The contest closes at midnight tonight. Good luck and happy reading! :)
Hmmm, this could be a tough relationship problem to solve. Rule #1, no clubbing mate and holding her hostage. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat six. Happy Easter!
I love strong women who don't put up with Neanderthals wielding clubs! :) Great six!
ReplyDeleteMen! Why are they so clueless? LOL. I've read Her Devoted Vampire and it's great. Buy it, people!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like she may be coming around to at least hearing an explanation, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI just read this scene yesterday morning. :D Bridget is so fiesty. I love that about her. Great 6, Siobhan.
ReplyDeleteLove her honesty...the way she comes out with it tellin' him he can't just keep a woman captive and hope she'll give in. I wonder how he reacts to it?
ReplyDeleteLoved Bridgit and this six! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteLove the interaction between them!
ReplyDeleteGreat six....love how she tells it like she sees it and holds nothing back!
ReplyDeleteLove her snark!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! Especially the club your mate bit!
ReplyDeleteLove her reply! Fun six! :) Thanks for the mention, sweetie! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBridget does have a way of getting right to the heart of the matter, doesn't she! Great six, Siobhan!
ReplyDeleteThat's probably a slur on Neanderthals.
ReplyDeleteGreat dynamic between them! And personally, I kinda like Neanderthal men... ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Bridget's feistiness. A great six! :)
ReplyDeleteFeisty. Good dialogue that helps bring out character and what she's feeling.
ReplyDeleteHe may be old, but he still has a lot to learn about love and ladies.
ReplyDeleteI love how she is calling him on his actions. Great six! :)
ReplyDeleteHer response made me laugh. Nice one :-)
ReplyDeleteHow cool that she can stand up to him--and yet there's some powerful chemistry in the process!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll just bet that being so firm with him is exactly how he'll fall in love with her even more. Great six!
ReplyDeleteI bet their banter is fantastic! Fantastic six!
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me! Drag me off by the hair of the head Yea. I can do that. LOL. Good six. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow's he going to answer that? Great snippet. Love how she's standing up to him.
ReplyDeleteGreat tension in their dialogue along with a touch of humor. I like her!
ReplyDeleteI love this! The challenge in her tone (yes, I did hear her, lol) is fabulous!
