Six Sentence Sunday - How to Rescue a Pirate - Why the Rescue

Welcome back, Sixers! Thank you for reading and commenting on my WIP snippet. It makes my whole weekend when you comment and it's great to see returning names. Several other authors participate in Six Sentence Sunday and a few of my favorites are Cara Michaels, Jayel Kaye, JoAnn Ross, and Lynne Murray. Be sure to check near the end of the list because Karysa Faire, Goran Zidar, and Nellie Batz are good reads, too.

In this snippet of How to Rescue a Pirate, Samantha Abbott has woken from her faint after Captain Blackheart gave her a concussion from throwing her against the wall. He recognizes her and wants to know why she's there.

“Why would ye think I needed rescuing?” He poured her a mug of water from the pitcher she’d found the night before and handed it to her.
Now it was her turn to snort. “I find you drunk off your ass in a run-down tavern, a wanted man with no one covering your back. Let me think.”
Instead of grimacing, he gave her a little half-smile that was both sad and sexy.

She's got him dead-to-rights. Definitely in need of rescuing. Next week, Six Sentence Sunday is taking a break for the Holiday so the official site won't be posting. But I'll have six Holiday sentences up for you to enjoy so please stop by. If I don't see you, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - How to Rescue a Pirate - Only a Lad

Welcome back, Sixers! So nice to see you again and welcome to the newcomers! Thank you for your comments on my story posts. They really make my day and let me know I'm not just writing to the great beyond. I hope you've been enjoying the glimpses into my world of the weird, the wild, & the wicked as much as I enjoy sharing. There are several other authors who participate in Six Sentence Sunday and some of my favorites are Cara Michaels, JoAnn Ross, Lynne Murray, and Jayel Kaye. Be sure to check out the whole list. There are some great authors who don't sign up in the first few numbers. Goran Zidar, Kallypso Masters, and Ciara Ballintyne are a few I read.

In this snippet, Marcus Blackheart woke up from a nightmare and threw his companion, a "lad" he knew as Sam, against the wall. Sam survived, but the concussion made the lad faint and Marcus is regretting his violence. Then he noticed something odd after he laid Sam on the bed.

Sam Abbott
Marcus pushed the shirt further back and untied the band in an effort to allow the lad a respite from the pressure. To his immense surprise, the silk slid away to reveal overly developed pectoral muscles that almost looked like...
A combination of astonishment and arousal slammed into him as he realized he wasn’t looking at a young boy but rather a fully mature female with delectable, rounded breasts. Rosy aureoles with large nipples tempted his lips and tongue and he caught the scent of the tinarchs once more. He jerked his gaze up at the fan of golden hair across the pillow above the elegantly arching brows and delicate nose with its tip slightly upturned, the full sensuous lips with the cleanly shaven jawline below.
His eyes widened as he recognized those features, years earlier displayed openly for him on a female tied to the Captain’s berth.

He might have some reparations to make, even if he was rescued by a girl! ;) Thanks for stopping by and happy reading! :)

Six Sentence Sunday - How to Rescue a Pirate - Nightmares

Welcome back, Sixers, to the Weird, the Wild, & the Wicked. Thank you for coming and commenting each week. I really appreciate the comments and the company. ;) It's so nice to see returning folks as well as new faces. Please follow the links on Six Sentence Sunday to visit the blogs of other participating authors. Some of my favorites are Cara Michaels, JoAnn Ross, Jayel Kaye, and Brien Michaels.

Marcus Blackheart
In this snippet from How to Rescue a Pirate, Samantha has been ripped out of sleep by Capt. Marcus Blackheart screaming from a nightmare. She tries to wake him before he brings the other residents of the hostel running.

[Marcus] roared with fury as his eyes snapped open and he grabbed her by the arm, throwing her across the room like a flung pillow. [Sam] landed hard against the wall beside the door, her head slamming into the plaster. He was out of the bed and towering over her in his fury before she could blink, his hand wrapped around her dirk with the blade pressed against her throat.
She tried to tell him she meant him no harm, but her head swam and her breath wouldn’t come.
“WHO ARE YE?!” He grabbed her shirt front, hauling her nose to nose with him.

He certainly knows how to make a good impression. Thank you so much for stopping by and happy reading! :)
